A little history...
1635: Foundation in Vannes, at the request of the Bishop to treat the sick of St Nicholas Hospital.
1789 - the French Revolution: expulsion of the sisters, arrest and imprisonment of those who fled to Questembert.
1803: recall of 7 Augustinian sisters by the Municipality of Vannes. Installation at the Petit Convent.
1866: They are again expelled from Vannes and settle in Malestroit.
War 14-18: The sisters welcome the wounded. A military infirmary is organized and a small clinic is born in 1918.
1928: Under the leadership of a 28-year-old Sr. Yvonne Aimée de Jésus, a modern clinic is built.
War 39-15: the sisters welcome resistance, wounded, hide escaped prisoners taking great risks.
1946: Mother Yvonne-Aimée is elected 1st Superior General of the Federation of Augustinians of France, England and Africa.
1990-2000: Opening of a training center for health-care assistants in Malestroit and a Home Hospital in Angers.
2003-2019: The project of establishment of the Clinic turned towards geriatric medicine, rehabilitation, palliative care brings a new breath to the hospital work in
Malestroit.
2022 : The Clinique des Augustines celebrated the restoration of its historic 1928-1929 building and inaugurates the
extension of its premises with day hospitals.
